Welcoming Your Relic into Its New Waterscape
Each aquascape relic arrives steeped in lore and ready to awaken within your aquarium. To preserve its beauty and support its aquatic harmony, we recommend the following steps and gentle rituals.
📦 Arrival & Awakening
Unveiling the Relic
Your relic has journeyed far—wrapped with care to protect its delicate magic. Before you attempt to release it from its cocoon, please read these notes to avoid accidental damage.
- Most relics arrive nested in soft bags or bubble wrap. Do not tug or twist to free them.
- Instead, gently cut away the outer wrap—preferably with blunt-tipped scissors—avoiding sharp blades near fine mosses, delicate roots, or ornamentation.
- If plant elements are visible through the wrap, pause and unwrap slowly, layer by layer, as if discovering a relic in an ancient vault.
- Allow yourself a moment to take it in—sight, scent, texture—before placing it into soak or within its aquarium sanctuary.
Remember: your relic isn't just unwrapped, it's awakened.
..............
🪵 Wood & Tannins
- Your relic’s wooden elements have been lovingly pre-soaked to release most of their natural tannins.
- Tannins are earthy compounds released from driftwood—think of them as nature’s tea, infusing the water with a soft amber tint.
- They’re completely safe for fish, shrimp, and aquatic plants, and may even offer mild antifungal and antibacterial properties.
- We suggest you continue soaking for an additional 24 hours upon receipt to ensure you're happy with the coloration before placing it in your tank.
Tannin-rich water is often revered for its forest-floor aesthetic and calming ambiance. Many aquarists see it as part of the relic’s evolving story.
............
🌬️ Waterflow & Placement
- Position your relic in a stable current, allowing soft flow to dance around its contours.
- Avoid placing near strong filters or bubbles that might dislodge delicate moss or fine elements.
- Consider low-flow zones for relics designed with subtle detailing or suspended foliage.
............
🧼 Maintenance & Respectful Upkeep
- Gently remove excess biofilm or algae with a soft brush or dedicated aquarium-safe tools.
- Never use soap or chemicals—your relic’s enchantment thrives in purity.
- Trim or refresh moss and plants seasonally, like tending to a magical grove.

🌳 Material Origins
Each piece of wood chosen for your relic has been carefully selected for its aesthetic character, durability, and compatibility with aquatic life. We source from trusted partners who understand the needs of aquascaping and the nuances of natural preservation.
Every branch, root, and fragment is vetted not just for form—but for the story it carries.
While we don’t publicly list our suppliers to protect the integrity of the Vault, rest assured that all materials have been soaked, seasoned, and tested with both beauty and balance in mind.

⛰️ Runestones & Rootbeds
Some relics rest upon fragments of ancient earth—stones chosen not merely for their visual poetry, but for their peaceful presence within aquatic realms. These materials are sourced from trusted aquarium suppliers, selected for stability, safety, and story.
✨ Materials You May Encounter
- Seiryu-style runestones — Veined like mountain echoes, dramatic yet composed.
- Lava shard foundations — Porous and moss-loving, shaped by elemental fire.
- River-worn pebbles — Gentle, smooth, timeless tokens of underwater pilgrimage.
- Elderstone fragments — Dark and stoic, said to quiet restless currents.
- Dragonstone — Earthy and rugged, favored for dramatic terraces and mythic layering.
- Pagoda stone — Pale and stratified, evoking ancient temple steps beneath water.
- Black slate shards — Sleek and grounding, ideal for subtle contrast or shadowplay.
I do not use reactive minerals, glass, or crystal fragments in submerged zones. Every relic is designed with both beauty and aquatic balance in mind.
